A Note on This Beer

Can PB&J be dessert?

Absolutely, with WeldWerks’ PB&J Tawny Port Medianoche Port-Aged Imperial Stout! Heck, you could call this dark 13.1% ABV beauty a work of art!

To craft all this decadence, the GABF-award winning brewers at WeldWerks aged their Medianoche base — a signature blend of Imperial Stouts — for 20 months in Tawny Port wine barrels. Then, they conditioned the beer on peanut flour and concord grapes.

On the nose, sultry aromas of oak, dried fig, vanilla, hazelnut, and coffee engulf the senses. Espresso-like malts create strong, roasty notes on the palate. Flavors of jammy grape compote swirled with port dessert wine come next. And, the finish alternates between notes of rich peanut butter and fudgy Nutella.

In the hands of WeldWerks, THIS PB&J Stout is no doubt dessert-worthy!

And, with the time and effort the crew poured into these bottles, it can hold its own on any dinner table. Whether that’s on your picnic table or at your next special-occasion family gathering, is entirely up to you.

Very nice aromas of jammy Concord grapes and oily peanuts. It’s a very thick stout: almost like spent motor oil after an oil change. It’s almost crushable. The initial flavor is of a classic imperial stout, followed by a bit of sweet and tart grape jam, with a final and intense flavor and aftertaste of peanut brittle. The finish is absolutely addictive for peanut fans and is an amazing highlight of this beer. Wonderful and fantastic all around.

This sucks. I drainpoured after two sips. Unfortunately I bought two bottles of this after I won the Weldwerks lottery for this - so I have 4btls in the fridge and this is awful. I’m bummed when Tavour gets sloppy seconds on beers that everyone knows aren’t good!

Nearly undrinkable. I had to mix it with another stout. Tastes like someone made you eat a Tootsie Roll that had been sitting on their dashboard in the hot sun for about a week.

Jammy, slightly tart nose. Thick mouthfeel. Interesting combo of barrel and adjuncts. I like it quite a bit, but could see why it’s polarizing.
