A Note on This Beer
Portland’s Cascade Brewing is like the Sour Ale sweetheart of Oregon.
They rep a slew of awards and medals under their belt, including a shout out from The New York Times for brewing the Best Sour Beer in America!
Now, they’ve crafted a tongue-tantalizing brand new brew called Pear Mary made with the juice of Oregon’s official state fruit: pears.
This Sour Blond Ale Blend is so succulently juicy, it tastes like the brewer just plucked the Northwest-grown pears right off the branch!
Then, they upped the ante by aging the blend with pears in wine barrels for 18 months, THEN adding fresh rosemary to the mix! Suddenly, this 7.1% ABV pucker stands strong with exciting nuances unlike many other Sour Ales brewed today!
The pears still take center stage in every sip, but they’re backed up by tannic oak from the barrels, notes of pine and ginger from the rosemary, and a champagne-like effervescence from Cascade’s house-cultures.
It’s not every day you get to enjoy a high-class bottle of bubbly pear juice from Oregon’s Sour Ale sweethearts. Today, you can change that by grabbing yourself a juicy stash of Pear Mary.
