A Note on This Beer
I got a little daring in the kitchen and tried baking a Key Lime Pie for the first time ever.
If you’ve made a Key Lime Pie, you know it’s not exactly a walk in the park. From squeezing handfuls of limes to get the juice for the filling, to having to wait hours for the pie to chill in the fridge, it’s a treat that takes alot of time and effort.
Honestly, I should have just left it up to head brewer Chris Trelstad and his crew at Adventurous Brewing.
To make today’s Pleased As Pie, Chris poured 4 gallons of high-grade Key Lime purée across seven barrels of lip-pursing Sour Ale. Then, he added heaps of ceylon cinnamon, sweet vanilla, and milk sugar to elevate the Sour sipper to heavenly pie-like richness!
With each taste, cinnamon and vanilla combine to form the flavors of a crumbly graham cracker crust. Meanwhile, the oodles of fresh fruit purée and lactose blend together for the silky smoothness of a creamy, tangy key lime custard.
Each sip is so delightfully inviting, you may want to follow it up with a spoonful of fresh whipped cream!
But, here’s the kicker: everything that Adventurous brews is insanely small-batch. And right now, Tavour is the only place outside of Iowa to get yourself a slice of today’s sweet-tart delight.
With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!
