Cinderlands Beer Company is a brewery that embraces its roots. Their name is an homage to the industrial history of their hometown, Pittsburgh. Locals still refer to the location of the Cinderlands Warehouse as the old Spaghetti Warehouse, a long-gone landmark. 

But, even while settled amongst all that history, Cinderlands’ brewers always have their eyes on the future. 

Just look at their latest release, Plums in Retrograde. This brew is part of a line so unique, Cinderlands had to come up with a brand new moniker: the Tartshake! 

The brewers soak ginger plum iced tea into the Sour base of this sipper. They add doses of ginger juice for zest and heaps of plum purée to give the brew a fruity richness. They gently hop this bad boy with some Loral for a subtle honey-tinge. A dash of lactose and vanilla puts the shake-like creaminess into this tart treat! 

One taste of this brew is like biting into a scoop of plum and ginger sorbet — sweet, tangy, zingy, and so refreshing. 

No matter how delicious their creations are, the brewers at Cinderlands are always moving forward. So, it’s best to grab a few cans of Plums in Retrograde before they become another old landmark in Pittsburgh history!
