About This Beer
An Imperial Buckwheat Stout aged in bourbon, brandy, and tequila barrels. If that sentence made your mouth water, this beer is for you. The crew at Firestone Walker aged this beauty for a whopping 24 months in that trifecta of spirited oak.
Tasting Notes
Every full-bodied sip should overflow with flavors of whiskey caramel, vinous wine-like notes, and just a hint of agave. Let a drop linger on the taste buds, and you’ll also discover nuances of date and fig with whispers of baker’s chocolate and a subtle whisper of smoke.

Espresso-like head, bourbon aroma with hints of brandy, nutty buckwheat taste with rye-like pepper and vanilla notes, silky, bold, with a strong tequila finish.

Very good. The blend of liquor barrels works great. And some really nice sweet flavor comes through as well. Yum!

Nearly perfect… The tequila is the most forward barrel and works so well with the lighter Buckwheat Stout that is just silky smooth, dangerously good. You get the Bourbon adds vanilla while the Brandy adds a touch of fruit! Such a great barrel program.

Manna! Rich, nutty, chocolate, caramel, vanilla & ribbons of alcohol decadence. One of the few bottles that I lost myself in its complexity.
