A Note on This Beer
Today’s 4.27 UT-rated Port Raspberry Evasion Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout might as well come with a cummerbund, because every sip is like an invitation to a black tie gala.
This ultra-limited Stout from Indiana’s Taxman pours tuxedo black, with decadent notes of tart raspberry cloaked in dark chocolate and drizzled with a Port wine reduction. Like something you’d order from the dessert cart at a Michelin starred restaurant, but with a rosy cheek-inducing 13% ABV.
Actually, I don’t even have to put on a tie to feel all that delightfully decadent luxury. I can kick up my feet on the deck with a few buddies, and revel in this little taste of the lifestyles of the rich and famous.
The Best of Craft Beer and World Beer Cup award winners at Taxman infused this decadent Imperial Stout with James Bond levels of class by aging it in Port Wine barrels with fresh, locally-grown raspberries. It’s a beautifully fruity compliment to the dark chocolate and candied date flavors of their Exemption Stout.
Normally this super-exclusive treat can only be found at the brewery and a handful of high-end bottle shops around Indy, and those are already sold out.
But today is special. Because you’ve got a chance to treat yourself to a sip of something normally unattainable. A brew that even your fanciest Stout loving friends haven’t sampled.
Even if elegant dinner parties aren’t your jam, you’re gonna want to get fancy with this brew. Grab a few cans of Port Raspberry Evasion and a couple of good friends, and suddenly sunset on the porch will feel like the most exclusive event of the year.
