About This Beer
Hoppin’ Frog invented the Belgian-style “Pentuple'' back in 2018. Just a year later, it earned the brewery their 6th GABF medal! Their so-called “super charged Tripel'' has become a fun, fan-favorite annual series with a whole family of barrel-aged varieties. In this particular variant, they stowed it away in desserty Port Wine Barrels, making it the perfect brew to wave the night away like a “port” side passenger!
Tasting Notes
Aromas of cherry and blackberry fill the room on the pour. Huge notes of Bordeaux cherry juice and mashed blueberry swirl with clove spice at the start of each drink, settling with honey notes at the finish. Belly-warming heat lingers post-taste, inviting another slow, pensive sip from the amber body.

I love the complex flavors in this beer. I’ll admit it may not be for everyone, but if you enjoy a good barley wine or port wine, this will be for you. Hoppin’ Frog has become a brewery I make sure to taste!

absolute quality. the port flavors really came out, lending some good sweetness and stone fruit flavors.

I am glad I got one. It’s in the same family as goose Island bourbon county beers but much cheaper.
