A Note on This Beer
It’s unprecedented when a brand new brewery wins Gold at a competition as stacked as the Oregon Beer Awards. And when they defeat a household name like Deschutes at the same time? Pretty much unheard of — but that’s exactly what Monkless Belgian Ales did.
It wasn’t long before the name Monkless spread from Bend all around the West Coast, gaining adoration from craft fans for their intensely flavorful and boozy Ales. Case in point: today’s 10% ABV Pour Pour Pitiful Me Quad with Cherries.
Crack open this complex sipper at your next dinner party as an aperitif, and show all your friends you’re keyed into the true underdogs of the West Coast craft scene.
Pour into a chalice and admire its deep umber hue. Swirl it around and breathe in luxurious aromas of figs, caramelized dates, and rye. Take a sip and bask in its boozy glow laced with rich flavors of molasses and baked apple. As it warms, notice nuances of vanilla and brown sugar intertwining with sweet, juicy cherries.
Pitiful Me is a great example of why Monkless has carved out a niche in the crowded Oregon beer scene, bringing a taste of true Belgian craft to the Northwest. And even though you won’t find any of Monkless’ creations outside the area, don’t get the mopes — we nabbed just enough of this delicious treat to spread the love.
