A Note on This Beer
Leave it to Great Notion to brew a new Fruited Sour with mangosteen — a fruit most of us will never even see in person, much less be able to get out of Southeast Asia.
This Oregon crew has a reputation for being so creative, Willamette Week says they changed Portland’s beer scene forever!
And, it seems they’re content to keep pushing the status quo. For today’s incredible sipper, Great Notion wove copious amounts of rarely-seen mangosteen into their Sour Ale base, along with passionfruit and mango to really deepen the tropical harmony.
Every rich mouthful starts velvety smooth, transforming quickly into an explosion of puckering, ripe fruit flavors. The tangy-tart mangosteen is front and center, wrapping the passionfruit and mango notes in a delicious plethora of peach, strawberry, and lychee-like fruit cocktail flavors.
It’s leaving early tasters stunned! @Hoppocrates declares, “Yikes! This is bright, and this is gewd!” And @Trey W. says, “Wow, that's awesome. Really tart, but balanced so well with the sweet mango.”
The brew’s called Queen of Fruits. With each masterful sip challenging the usual flavors we’ve come to know in Sour styles, it certainly invokes feelings of royalty. Ready to wear the crown?
