About This Beer
For this delicious variant, the award-winning legends at Cincinnati’s Rhinegeist took their fan favorite Imperial Stout and aged it in red wine barrels for rich accents of vanilla oak and chocolate covered berries.
Tasting Notes
Red Wine BA Night Whale picked up dark fruit aromas and hint of tannic bite from its barrels. You can taste the deep cocoa, vanilla, and chocolate-covered berry flavors all complementing the boozy warmth of its massive 13.6% ABV!

A smooth and luxurious barrel aged.

This one is fantastic! Aroma of chocolate, espresso, light vanilla. On the palate chocolate covered black cherry, bittersweet chocolate, and light roast pour over coffee. Much lighter and less boozy than expected but so well balanced and drinkable!

You really do pick up the sweet sugars of the red grape with a long lingering tannic finish. Nose is luscious and deep with plum and anise. Not over thick but coats the mouth nicely.

It’s rather approachable for both its size and ABV. I pick up on aromatic and flavor notes of semi-sweet cocoa powder, dried Montgomery cherries, and the signature tannic bite/sourness of a Pinot Noir. It’s sure to satisfy beer and wine enthusiasts alike.
