A Note on This Beer
Goochland, Virginia is obviously not in Belgium, but Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery may convince you otherwise -- they make 5 of the top 100 Quadruples in the world on BeerAdvocate! Today we’re bringing you one of them straight from the source: Bourbon Barrel-Aged Redneck Wedding.
With its 13.2% ABV wrapped within layers of caramelized figs, burnt sugar, and smooth vanilla, Redneck Wedding out-boozes and out-barrels its Belgian kin with Kentucky-style Southern charm and a spike a whiskey.
Aging in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels not only douses the Quad in vanilla spice and oak, it smooths it out into a silky display of bountiful dark fruits that Untappd users are going crazy for:
- “Oh my.... soooo good! Unexpectedly easy to drink! Danger! Watch yo self!” - @katieloowho
- “This wedding kicks ass” - @SonnyCongo
- “13.2 ABV?? Good thing I am [not] driving” - @RealDealKiehle
Fellow Virginia masters of boozy intensity at Adroit Theory told us “you gotta get Lickinghole’s stuff -- they’re super intense!” Redneck Wedding definitely fits their decadent mission statement to a tee, and outside of Virginia, this is only place you’re gonna find em.
