A Note on This Beer
I don’t know what actual reindeer tears taste like, but if they cry anything near as delicious as today’s Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine, I’m jealous of everyone at the North Pole.
The jolly and dark-humored folks at Heathen Brewing let their annual favorite nap in Bourbon Barrels all year to enrich its flavors of fig, dark cherry, and vanilla — like holiday baked goods fresh out of the oven. The finish is punctuated with delightful brown sugar whispers and notes of charred oak.
Reindeer Tears (2020) is viscous and opulent, with body-tingling warmth from its 12% ABV!
This silky sipper is meant for savoring on a chilly winter night — whether it’s this year or in future winters after the brew’s roasty heat has had more time to mellow in the cellar. Heck, if you really wanted to win the holidays, you could snag two bottles and bestow ‘em to your best beer-lovin’ buddy. They’ll be able to enjoy one now and one later for a gift that keeps on giving!
Have you been good this year? At Tavour, we don’t judge, because every dark beer fan deserves a sip of this rich ‘n boozy Barleywine!
*No reindeer were harmed in the crafting of this beer. As far as we know, the Heathen folks don’t even keep reindeer at their Vancouver, WA brewery.
