How the heck did the crew at Heathen Brewing make today’s Barleywine so damn delicious? Turns out, my first guess was wrong. It’s not magical malts from the North Pole infused with sprinkles of authentic Christmas cheer. It’s something even better — an extensive rest in high-quality bourbon barrels!
Tasting Notes
Layers of caramel and silky vanilla take a sleigh ride through the rich sip. Notes of chocolate-covered raisin, candied fig, and a touch of dark cherry usher the palate to a satisfying finish accentuated by whispers of oak and whiskey.

Not much different from the other vintages that I have enjoyed from Heathen. Rich caramel, spice, mild carbonation, with a nice mouthfeel.
