A Note on This Beer
Many of our favorite dark beers tip the scale from good to memorable because of their unique and complimentary ingredients. Today's beer works with the adjuncts we loved in our favorite Prairie Bomb, but combines them with a slightly lighter dark base. The resulting memorable beer is drinkable in the summer and delightfully reminiscent of a chocolate covered gingersnap cookie.
Shmaltz Brewing Company’s 8% ABV Reunion Ale 16 is a complex Dark Spiced Ale brewed with chocolate, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger and Mexican chili peppers, amen.
Infusing bourbon with mulling spices and heating it stovetop might come close to simulating this beer’s heady aroma; it permeates the air, cueing the upcoming flavors of joy and spice. Sipping reveals chili pepper heat wrapped in a vanilla cocoon with a potent dusting of cocoa powder, allspice and nutmeg. The effervescent Belgian ale base allows every ingredient to stream directly onto the palate and the finish is a remarkable simulation of freshly baked gingerbread.
Brewed in collaboration with Georgia’s Terrapin Beer Co., Reunion Ale is an incredibly accessible and fun drinking experience. If you loved Prairie Bomb this beer will push your tastes in a new direction but give you some bold and familiar flavors to hold on to.
