A Note on This Beer
Hopheads and Sour fans never seem to agree. It's always, "I'm an IPA kind of guy," or "I LOVE those tart pours."
Well, thanks to today’s Ripe for the Picking Sour IPA, you no longer have to choose a side!
To craft this tart-n-hoppy pour, it took two masterful New York breweries joining forces: The Oldest Surviving Microbrewery in the Bronx, Gun Hill Brewing, and the 2019 New York Craft Beer Competition award winners at Destination Unknown Beer Co.!
Combining their prowess for fruity-tart and hoppy brews, these powerhouse crafters engineered today’s hybrid-style goodness by adding over ten pounds of juicy apricots and passionfruit per barrel! Then, they dry-hopped the heck out of it with AU Summer, Hallaertau Blanc, and Mosaic Hops.
The result is a 4.11 UT-rated glassful of smooth stone fruit, sweet gooseberry, and tart raspberry that walks the line between resinous IPA and fruited Sour. Thick and tart, juicy and hoptastic, now you can indulge in the best of both worlds!
Ripe for the Picking is flipping New Yorkers’ palates upside down, and it’s prompting UT users like @Samantha M. to exclaim, “Yoooo this beer though!”
Or as one Gun Hill fan told the brewers; “I’m not normally into Sour tasting things but DAAAAAMN that is good ... I gotta fill my growler up with this one!”
Now is your chance to grab a bushel of this brew and experience a masterful hybrid style. Then, you can gather up all your hophead homies and your Sour sidekicks in one room, share some Ripe for the Picking, and be the reason they agree on something for once!
