A Note on This Beer
Today’s beer changed 600 Tavour members’ lives forever.
Each year we host a customer appreciation party here in Seattle, to thank a room full of Washington locals who helped kick off our awesome community.
We always provide a stellar line up of hard to find beers and there’s always a headliner; a brew that causes our RSVP list to max out within hours of sending the invite.
This year, the headliner was Cantillon’s crushed raspberry Rosé de Gambrinus. It’s rated an exceptional 4.36 on Untappd for its farm fresh beer flavor and subtle rustic funk.
If you love craft beer and you’re not yet familiar with Cantillon, you get ready to jot down a few quick notes. These brewers are the Mercedes-Benz of Belgian Sours and their name is synonymous with the style:
- The brewery makes all 5 of the Top Lambics in the World on BeerAdvocate
- They brew 4-out-of-5 of the Top Fruit Lambics on Untappd
- Draft Mag even wrote a whole feature on why Cantillon beers are so rare!
Here’s the gist: because they use such a tedious, time consuming, meticulous process to create each batch, there is never enough of it to meet the ever growing thirsts of fruity Sour loving craft fans.
You can see why the lucky members who experienced Rosé de Gambrinus at our holiday party were so appreciative of the experience. But beyond all the hype, it was gratifying to hear so many of them say they couldn’t believe it was from Belgium. And many of them raved about how it was one of the best Fruit Sours they’d ever had.
Rated 4.36 on Untappd; 4.32 on BeerAdvocate
