About This Beer
Rum Barrel Pumpkin began with a Saison base. Then brewers at Hardywood Park blended in Virginia-grown sugar pie pumpkin and seasoned the balanced brew with nutmeg, clove, allspice, mixed pie spice, and fresh ginger. Then they aged it in Caribbean dark rum barrels for months, where it picked up oaky notes and molasses sweetness from the casks.

Each clear sip swells with autumnal character as the essence of fall dances smoothly over your palate. Lingering notes of brown sugar and rum, along with its 12.3% ABV, will pleasantly warm you on a cool evening.

Aromas of brown sugar, molasses, and canned squash purée; flavor dominated by warming autumnal baking spices, namely allspice, clove, and ginger. The pumpkin character comes out a little more as it warms, but remains too watery and unfocused for my taste.
