Without further adieu, let us introduce you to the spicy chocolate booze soiree that is FiftyFifty’s Eclipse 11% ABV Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, the 2017 Rye Cuvee Edition.

The California brewery takes their multi award winning Totality Imperial Stout, and ages it in rye whiskey barrels for a minimum of 180 days. Over 18 separate ingredients work together to take you on a sensory drinking experience filled with cameos of brown sugar, dark cocoa and vanilla espresso.

This edition is known for being incredibly smooth - notes of spicy rye fuse with honeycomb, leather and bitter gourmet chocolate. Sweetness rises on the palate, reminding you of a soaked caramel fudge cake -- but the whiskey dryness and lacings of bitter coffee control the richness created by these dessert impressions.
