A Note on This Beer
Serious Dark Beer fans know the only thing more hardcore than drinking Old Rasputin XXI is getting your hands on it in the first place.
That’s because the 14x GABF award-winning Stout gods at North Coast Brewing only release this boozy beast once a year in extremely limited batches. And until a few years ago, the only place to get it was at a tiny bottle shop in Northern California!
Whether you’re a collector, a longtime fan of original Old Rasputin, or a craft beer lover looking for something special, now’s your chance to snag a brew at the top of its class. With a bevy of World Beer Championship awards, BA Old Rasputin is one dark and boozy (11.2% ABV) brew that's sure to impress!
It all comes down to Rasputin’s incredibly malty, mellowed flavors from its near year-long nap in Rye Whiskey Barrels. We almost don’t want to share what it tastes like so you can be blown away completely, but we also can’t stop talking about how damn good this emperor of Russian Imperials is!
Pour it into a glass and let the head settle into a layer of creamy, dense foam as the beer opens up. Take a sip, and semisweet dark chocolate, rich coffee, leather and dried fruit dance in its depths. Oaky vanilla undertones and a touch of smoky peat from the barrels come in on the finish.
As you continue sipping, you’ll notice that each boozy mouthful becomes increasingly more silky-smooth. Find a comfy place to sit, because savoring the beautifully crafted Old Rasputin XXI is all you’re going to want to do today.
