A Note on This Beer

After my grandma took her first sip of Evil Twin’s Ryste Ryste Key Lime Pie IPA, she raised her eyebrows and exclaimed, “Well, gosh-friggin-darnit. The years I’ve wasted!”

I felt consumed by an overwhelming sense of triumph.

Today, she and I both agree: Key Lime Pie IPA will knock the socks off any hop-headed, sweet-toothed, pie lover OR craft lover!

These NY brewmasters start with loads of Citra and Mosaic Hops for the whisper of pine resin IPA enthusiasts go nuts over. Afterwards, they add heaps of zesty key lime, succulent milk sugar, luscious vanilla, and sweet graham crackers for succulent summer-dessert flavors.

Each tangy-sip tastes like a forkful of fluffy-filling-goodness: tart and citrusy at the forefront, followed by waves of sweet cream and nutty graham cracker crust.

So, I decided to learn from my Grandma’s mistake, and grab a slice of this craft-pie while I still can. As Evil Twin fans know, the opportunity won’t last long!

Nice vibrant milkshake style IPA! The lime zest gives you the perfect amount of pucker to go along with the amount of hops it has! Graham cracker kind of sits on your palette and lingers around for some time. Definitely a welcomed guest though! Nailed it.

Not a fan of IPA’s but this one was a treat. You got all the flavors of key lime pie that worked well with the bitterness you expect from an IPA.

Daily corona battle. Punchy lime, plenty tart. Would be a smooth and unique sour, if you’re looking for an ipa be warned. I like it, just expect it to be what they describe, not what it’s named. Vanilla finishes it off, bringing out a slight crustiness.

Now THAT’S a sour beer! Unfortunately, the sour takes over and I don’t taste the key lime as much as I’d hope. As a huge key lime pie lover, I’m disappointed.

For someone that loves fruit beers and sours I’ll admit I was nervous to try a milkshake ipa but wow this is great! Perfect bite to it with the lime and the after taste feels like I just ate a huge piece of awesome pie!

Absolutely nailed the key lime experience. Heavy dose of lime followed with a nice slightly tart balance. Must try for key lime fans.

I got mostly lime flavors but I love lime so that I worked out. Missing the graham cracker pie essence but overall I really enjoyed this beer and would be great on a hot day!

Excellent! If you like key lime pie it's a fantastic beer. The hops dont overwhelm the flavor of the sweetness of the key like and you get a Graham cracker crust finish. Only thing I would've like more if it was a bit more creamy.
