About This Beer

The brewers aged Saison 750  in oak foeders and conditioned it on brettanomyces. But what really sets it apart from many examples of the style is the brewers’ use of solera — a form of fractional blending where brews of different ages are gradually mixed together over time. By bottling up Saison 750 quite late in the process, Kros Strain achieved a brew with incredible depth!

Tasting Notes

It’s like exploring a whole new level of funk. The bretty barnyard flavor is certainly present, but it mingles with a fruit punch-like complexity! Nuances of citrus, ripe pineapple, and cherry ebb and flow with a tide of earthy stone fruit. The mouthfeel is at once fresh and deliciously aged, almost like homemade lemonade served in an oak flagon.

light sour, light but decent funk, oak aging with just a bit buttery finish. the blend sure gives better balance of flavors without the single note of one vintage. well done! I’d love to have more
