A Note on This Beer

It’s no surprise that an IPA with stratospheric taste levels of Comet and Galaxy Hops is the invention of a Physics teacher turned brewery owner!

But, it IS curious that Destination Unknown Beer Co. named today’s double dry hopped NEIPA Science of Selling Space Junk. Its juicy peach, clean citrus, and pithy grapefruit flavor doesn’t need any fancy formulas or hypotheses to coax craft fans to grab a can.

Hopheads who’ve tried it say it tastes more like space treasure than space junk!

  • “Flavorful, hazy, and smooth!” @Kevin C.
  • “Hazy and dank...yet, sweet! Delicious.” @Tj M.
  • “Out of this world.” @Amo N.

This brew even comes dressed in neo-retro, space-themed can for a fully integrated craft cosmonaut experience. If you look closely, you might even peep Starman sitting atop his red Tesla Roadster, blasting across the can!

You don’t have to wait for planetary alignment to get a taste of this hop rocket, but don’t let it slip into the void, either. A brew carrying this much amazing hopjuice doesn't stay grounded for long!

Destination Unknown won Silver in the IPA category at the 2019 New York State Craft Beer Competition!

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Flavor of fresh citrus fruit and zest, bready malts, and earthy and herbal tea hops. Very tasty, solid NEIPA. Doesn't really stand out from a hundred other NEIPAs but it's definitely a good one and very enjoyable to drink. If it has one thing going for it to set it apart, the mouthfeel is particularly nice on this one.

A really solid IPA. Not too hoppy with a good amount of fruit and citrus. Nice color. Light and drinkable but with a sneaky good ABV.

Like a resinous mimosa, full of citrus up front with a piney bitterness on the finish.

IPAs have never been my thing, but I enjoyed the citrus kick this provided. Also, science rules!

Well balanced and the right bitterness on the finish without punching you in the face. Flavor isn’t profound, but a very enjoyable “easy” IPA to drink.

Ordered from Tavour. Chilled and poured into an imperial pint glass: Pre-empt our review with we are not IPA fans, but kinda dig the whole hazy movement, especially the west coast stuff that has been emerging the last couple years. Look: finger and a half size head, hazy, yellow... pretty beer, looks like there is more malt or pulp in the beer than is actually there... great lacing Smell: citrus notes like orange peel and pineapple with earthy notes of grapefruit and pine Taste: sweet on the front end, bitter on the back, hints of orange peel, pineapple and earthy grapefruit (really ripe grapefruit)... the hop notes are galaxy and citra, but not super bitter. Average beer if you like hazy IPAs (New England variety), the hops are the flavor. Average citrus and low malt value hide the ABV (7.5%). Cheers
