About This Beer
I’ve seen my share of chili beers, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a Stout brewed with Scotch bonnet peppers! Ranging from 100K to 350K Scoville units, these bonnies can be upwards of 40 times hotter than a jalapeño!
But don’t worry, the crew at Crooked Stave aren’t out to hurt you THAT bad. The peppers provide an invigorating flare of heat to their chocolatey base while cinnamon provides a sweeter sort of spice.
Tasting Notes
Decadent mole aromas erupt out of every pour. On the sip, Aztec milk chocolate swirls with baking spice before a subtle scorch from Scotch bonnets can be felt.

LIE! This is not even registering as mild spicy. There is nothing spicy to it.

Lots of cinnamon on the nose. Nice chewy mouth-feel with cinnamon, oak, and malt. Disappointed, however, in that the amount of Ghost Pepper was not near what I'd hoped for.

as a stout, it’s quite nice. cinnamon comes through as you’d want. no spice to it though, so kinda let down at that.

This is is highly unfortunate. Tastes like a generic stout, which is ok, but then you’re hit with a bit too much cinnamon. There is NO pepper taste or heat. This is made with scotch bonnet peppers, but you would never know.

base stout is nice and roasty. I was hoping for more heat and habanero flavor, but it didn’t come through. cinnamon is also very muted.

Don’t get any spice and it’s bitter. Disappointing. :(

the cinnamon did throw the flavor off. But everything else was pretty nice.
