About This Beer
The crew at unseen creatures got their hands on some incredibly high quality prickly pear fruit — tasters often describe it as a cross between watermelon and kiwi — and they just had to put it in a beer. So they combined it with some tangy lime to create a brew that absolutely bursts with bright, fruity flavors.
Tasting Notes
Hints of melon, red berries, and a subtle touch of bubblegum combine with citrus for a sip that’s both complex and refreshing. And despite the name, it’s so smooth you might want to curl up with it all evening.

this is more true to a fruited sour. smoothie sours are big, but this isn't that. like Black Project Spontaneous Ales, it's a true sour beer. almost akin to a soda, but less carbonated and lighter to drink. super super good. should've gotten more.

Don’t get me wrong, this was a good sour. I just built up the expectations too high when I saw prickly pear. Almost has like a hint of cucumber to it

Rich raspberry red color. Thick, pink, foamy head, with moderate retention. Tart, funky scent, with dominant notes of melon and kiwi, and hints of lime zest. Light body. Tangy and mildly tart. Prickly pear comes through remarkably strongly, with flavors of melon and kiwi. Finishes with a tangy, mild lime flavor. Sweetness of the prickly pear balances out the tartness of the lime and the sour ale itself. Fruit flavors are present and punchy, but not overwhelming or dominant. Extraordinarily well-balanced, allowing the sour ale to speak for itself, complemented and enhanced by the fruit and citrus flavors.

Aroma filled with kiwi and lime zest. Bright hit of lightly sweet prickly pear up front in taste followed by a mild lime tartness. Touch of acidity.
