Philadelphia's Human Robot Brewing opened their doors in February of 2020. Less than 2 months later, Covid forced them to shut down the taproom.

For most new breweries, that would have spelled the end. But, not for this crew. Human Robot managed to thrive for one simple reason: their beer is really, REALLY good. BreweriesInPA.com already places this brand new brewery among Pennsylvania’s Top 10!

And, this is the very first time Human Robot cans have ever been available outside of the brewery!

Take today’s Sedlec 12 Czech-style Pilsner. This crusher holds a 4.11 on Untappd — an absurdly high rating for a Pils that makes it one of the highest rated beers in the style on earth.

To create it, the brewers first crafted a single decoction mash, which just means they pulled part of the grains out of the brew kettle, boiled it at a high temperature, and then added it back. 

This caramelizes some of the sugars, creating richer, more complex notes of crusty bread and baked biscuits. Then, they accentuated those delicious flavors with a careful dry-hopping of Saaz Hops for gentle floral nuances and a touch of lemongrass. 

And, it worked! As one of the brewery co-founders puts it, “If you drink our Pilsner, you will taste the difference.” But, if you want to find out for yourself, you’ll have to either drive to Philly or hit that ‘Get It’ button, because these cans are available nowhere else.
