A Note on This Beer
If you’re ever lucky enough to visit Anchorage’s taproom, here’s what I recommend you do:
Bound up to the bar, sit your IPA-lovin’ booty down, and order up a boozy hopbomb like today’s Shape Shift Triple IPA!
Yep, 100% order a Triple first. Anchorage is one of Thrillists’ Best Breweries in the Country, and if you ever have the privilege of going there, go big right off the bat. Besides, you can hardly taste the 10.4% ABV behind Shape Shift’s intensely tropical juices, anyway!
To craft it, Gabe Fletcher and his hop-obsessed team started with bushels of Chinook, NZ Cascade, and Motueka Hops. Then, they upped the ante with a generous double dry hopping of Vic Secret, and even more Motueka!
Pour its silky nectar into a glass, and relish its aromas of sliced D’anjou pear, zesty nectarine, and bright passionfruit. Take a sip, and taste rivers of OJ fused with hints of luscious mango and apricot, until a balancing bitterness washes over the palate — all from the hops!
After a glass of this citrusy liquid courage, you would definitely have the confidence to shake head brewer Gabe Fletcher’s hand, too. Well, maybe — he’s a freaking craft beer celebrity, okay!
