About This Beer
For this hoppy, juicy Farmhouse Ale from their Summer 2022 release, the master brewers gave a blend of brett-fermented Saisons the IPA treatment.
One part of Silver Lining’s base spent 18 months maturing in their cellar. They brewed the other, younger vintage with El Dorado Hop extract before aging it in foeders. And, after the team blended them, they dry hopped the brew with Azacca, El Dorado, and Strata Hops to impart delicate tropical nuances throughout.
Tasting Notes
Each light, smooth sip treats you to subtle nuances of lemon zest and honeydew melon wrapped in an elegant hoppy bitterness. Bright pineapple and mango tones shine through from the El Dorado, meshing well with the complex natural tartness and bretty funk of the base.

Not very tart or sour with almost a peach aftertaste. Fantastic farmhouse ale.

I prefer my saison without souring. This uses brett yeast. Although it doesn't say it was soured, brett beers often are. This one has the tartness that comes from souring bacteria. Fortunately the tartness is fairly mild, and so I did enjoy it. But it would be better without the sour tartness. Brett yeast can be great without souring bacteria.
