If you find yourself in the city of Conroe, TX (just north of Houston) and want to wet your whistle with some extraordinary flavors, the locals will point you right to B-52 Brewing Co. 

If you haven’t heard of these bodacious bombers, here’s a few reasons to get excited:

• Eater Houston named them one of their essential 11 breweries!
• They’ve got an ever-rotating tap of some of the most unique beers in Texas, blending with everything from pomegranates and marshmallows, to savory umami and spicy habanero!

Today, we’re delighted to give Tavoursters a taste of their creative genius with Smoothie Tart: Peach & Blackberry Crumble. It’s the newest Fruited Sour in their Smoothie Tart series, and it’s already got locals quipping, “super bomb!” and “once again another amazing tart!” 

The brewers packed this succulent smoothie with nearly 30lbs per barrel of ripe, juicy peaches and 25lbs per barrel of plump, sweet blackberries. They brewed it with wheat, oats, barley, and lactose, then conditioned it on lemon zest, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Each smooth, velvety sip tastes like a decadent bite of peach and blackberry cobbler, fresh out of the oven. 

B-52 may be situated on a beautiful 7-acre plot, but their beer comes in deceptively small batches. In fact, today’s berrylicious crumble is nearly sold out in the taproom! 

We’re not sure if they’ll brew it again — but based on their commitment to always experimenting with new flavors and adjuncts, we’re guessing it’s not likely.

So, if you want to be one of the first to taste this crumble outside of Texas, better get your spoons ready!
