A Note on This Beer
As Kegerator.com so straightforwardly notes, Strata Hops are often described as “Passion fruit meets pot.” Brewers seek out the variety for its rainbow of tropical fruit and berry medley notes, deepend with aromas of fresh kush.
But here’s the thing — many brewers fear Strata’s unique complexity is too potent to stand on its own. It’s pretty rare to find an IPA hopped exclusively with it!
Fortunately for adventurous hopheads like us, the brewers at Ferndale Project are all about experimentation. Their Solo Strata IPA flaunts just how beautifully layered the hop can be on its own!
The brewers went ALL IN for this brand-new limited release. There’s Strata in the boil, reinforced with double dry-hopped portions for extra luscious fruit notes. Take a peek at all the flavors local tasters picked up in this juicebomb:
- “Strawberry, ruby red grapefruit, dank passionfruit. Love it.” @Steve H.
- “Fruit juice. Wow. Pineapple, orange mango juice. A bit of bread dough and grapefruit sorbet. This is high quality haze.” @Aaron P.
- “Wonderfully cloudy orange goodness!” @Matthew B.
When used with other hops, these layers are often obscured. But Ferndale Project’s rendition gives you the whole spectrum of the Strata-sphere!
Grab your cans quick — we just got word this small batch is already sold out at the brewery!
