A Note on This Beer
When I saw that today’s IIPA can has a donkey on it and is called Something Stubborn, I couldn’t help but laugh my ass off!
It reminds me of the time I tried to ride a donkey at the fair when I was eight. I got up in the saddle and was so excited to ride in circles with the other kids, but my donkey wouldn’t move! No matter what anyone did, he stubbornly refused to budge. And even though it was so damn frustrating at the time, I always get a kick out of the memory!
Even if you don't have a first-hand stubborn donkey story of your own, you’re bound to make some fun memories while crushing a few juicy pints of Something Stubborn Double New England IPA with your buddies!
But you gotta grab it soon. Every time we get our hands on a new IPA from Lickinghole Creek, our stash goes faster than you can say “hee-haw!” And early fans are already rating it a kickin’ 4.39 on UT!
Maybe it’s because beers from the GABF Medal-Winning Lickinghole Creek hardly ever leave Virginia, or perhaps it’s because they were named Most Underrated Brewery in their state by Thrillist. But I secretly hope it’s because they have an actual donkey on their farm brewery!
Fermented hot and fast with Norwegian yeast, today’s IIPA is an intensely juicy blend of El Dorado, Lemondrop, and Idaho Gem Hops! Each sip gushes with pineapple, peach, and a slight zing of fresh squeezed lemons. Let it linger on your palate, and you’ll taste additional orange and lime zest on the backend.
Stock up on a few of these cushy yet crushable 7.5% ABV hopbombs. Once you and your buddies polish them off, you won’t want to budge… just like that donkey at the fair!
As for me, I try to avoid donkeys since that incident years ago. But I’m always happy to share the story with some friends over a few cans of Something Stubborn!
Rated 4.39 from early reviews!
