A Note on This Beer
The crew at Newgrass Brewing bakes their own graham crackers in house. That’s how committed they are to making their 4.32-rated Space Trash Blueberry Coconut Cobbler Sour Ale taste exactly like it came fresh from grandma’s oven.
And, they don’t stop there!
This NC crew loads up this brew with real blueberries, silky vanilla beans, rich coconut cream, and a ribbon of silky lactose. Then, to really push it to new heights of pastry deliciousness, they hand toast marshmallows at the brewery before adding them to the mash. And, they sauté whole cinnamon sticks in bourbon!
If that sounds like a lot of work to make one beer, that’s because it is. But, when you get a taste, we think you’ll agree it’s more than worth the effort.
Every sip overflows with dense layers of flavor, gushing across the palate in a fruity flood of bright berry and coconut. Those house-toasted graham crackers add a note of fresh-from-the-oven pie crust, while the cinnamon creates warm bakery aromas tinged with a bit of whiskey caramel.
Finally, those hand-toasted marshmallows create a silky smooth finish, like a dollop of whipped cream atop an actual slice of gooey cobbler.
And, this is the very first time this treat has ever left North Carolina! Even your beer-geekiest buddies probably haven’t even heard of Newgrass, and now you can be the one to introduce them.
