A Note on This Beer
Break the Hop Barrier: The brewers double dry-hopped this Oat IPA with Mosaic AND Mosaic Cryo Hops! Fast Flavors: Bushels of bright blueberry burst across the palate from the very first sip, then torrents of tropical tangerine take flight with massive mounds of mango. On the finish, dive into dank papaya and pithy grapefruit. Soft Landing: Oats in the mash make it creamy smooth, like a milkshake IPA without the lactose.
Jackie “Speed Queen” Cochran — the first woman to break the sound barrier in an airplane — once said, “Adventure is a state of mind and spirit.”
I’m pretty sure the brewers at Chicago’s Pipeworks were channeling her undeniable radness when they made today’s 94/100 BA-rated Speed of Sound Double Dry-Hopped Oat IPA.
This innovative brew will take your tastebuds on a supersonic ride they won’t forget!
Now, I’m not saying this stuff will make you as awesome as Jackie Cochran — when she died in 1980, no other pilot, man or woman, held more speed, distance, or altitude records in aviation history. That’s a pretty high bar for awesomeness.
But, if you give your hophead friends a taste of Speed of Sound, you’ll definitely give yourselves a little taste of adventure. And like Jackie said, that’s always a good thing.
