For today’s ultra-limited 2020 SPON Three Year Blend, the brewers at Jester King drew inspiration from the Belgian Gueuze style. 

Using centuries-old techniques, the brewers took three different vintages of 100% spontaneously fermented beers — aged in oak barrels for one to three years — and blended them into one brew. Then, they carefully cellared their creation and allowed it to condition naturally in the bottle. 

From the native yeast and cultures, to the Texas-grown malted barley and raw wheat, to the aged hops matured on the farm, SPON’s ingredients embody Jester King’s sprawling brewery estate.

The opulent result is a masterfully executed Gueuze-inspired brew — mildly funky and full of exquisitely balanced, unique complexity. 

Any fan of the style would be remiss not to experience its nuances. But, fair warning, we’ve only got 20 cases of this year’s vintage to go around!
