Pretty good. I like the style with the added hoppiness. Gives it a nice citrusy bitterness.

Too sweet and sugary but drinkable

This Altbier runs 5.6% and pours a rich mahogany hue with medium head of fine lacing. Aromatics of fresh baked bread, chestnuts and fresh alfalfa! Sips medium and slightly creamy on the palate with luscious notes of dark bread crust, roasted chestnuts, honey glazed wheat and leather! For those that may not remember, Altbier is one of the few indigenous German ale styles, along with the blond kölsch from Cologne and the hefeweizens of Bavaria. It is a crisp, clean-tasting, full-bodied beer and is top fermented as opposed to bottom fermentation. Sticke alt German (a certain dialect) for "old secret" and because it's a style unto itself, sticke-alts' are more potent in flavor and alchohol than its sister, altbier and thous one certainly lives up to the oldest little known style out there! Great stuff here!
