A Note on This Beer
Returning to work in the New Year can be mighty tough. Lucky for us, Fremont Brewing is here to save sleepyheads everywhere with their just-released January seasonal Stone Squirrel Coffee Porter!
This delightfully perky dark brew brims with fresh roast flavors, deep cocoa, and caramelly-sweet locally-sourced coffee to get us headed into 2018 on the right side of the bed. And at an easygoing 5.4% ABV, it won’t make you drift into post-holiday hibernation.
A blend of Chocolate and Roasted Carafa Malts sits atop a foundation of Pale Malt to create layers of bittersweet cocoa and toasted toffee notes in a light, sessionable body. Fremont uses cold-brewed Café Carmelita from a local roastery, Tony’s Coffee. A cold brewing process allows this signature blend’s full potential of chocolate, subtle orange peel and rich caramel flavors to come through without the acidity of conventionally-brewed coffee.
Javaheads and Dark Beer Buffs have already jumped on Untappd to sing their praise of the brand new Stone Squirrel:
“Coffee subtle on the palate to perfection”- @sheabones
“Cold brew with perfect sweet Porter, coffee fixxx”- @missobey89
“Tastes like straight up coffee”- @sezehner
“I need this every morning when I wake up. Thank you Fremont!”- @Westcoastdl
