A Note on This Beer
It’s not an exaggeration to say that today’s bourbon-soaked East Coast–West Coast collab is the beer version of hip-hop powerhouses The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac making a song together.
That's because it's the work of Thrillist's Best Brewery in Florida — Cycle Brewing — getting together with the 4.34 UT-rated barrel masters of California at Horus Aged Ales!
Both breweries are beloved on their respective coasts for their massively flavorful barrel-aged Stouts. So, it’s no wonder that today’s Stryke Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout is a decadent treat that’s worth writing your mama about it!
Brewed with coffee, coconut, and vanilla, this motor oil thick pour swirls with aromas of freshly ground coffee beans and caramel malts. Creamy vanilla and coconut sweetness are masterfully balanced by rich espresso notes. The time spent slumbering in Bourbon barrels imparts a boozy heat and silky-smoothness on the finish that complements the mind-numbing 11% ABV.
It’s an irresistible flavor combo that has Dark Beer fans on both coasts adorning it with a massive 4.37 rating on UT! Here’s what they are saying:
- “OMG in a bottle!”@Donnie R.
- “Another banger from Cycle!” @Charlie D.
- “All the things I love in one bottle.” @Bill T.
Even if you happen to live on one of the coasts, finding a bottle of this chewy delight is nearly impossible — Stryke is no longer sold at either brewery!
So unless you wanna spend hours pleading with other Dark Beer lovers on trade forums, our small stash is your best chance to indulge in this coast-to-coast sipper. Like Biggie probably would have said if he drank craft: “Mo’ beer, less problems.”
