A Note on This Beer
The crew at San Diego’s Abnormal are some of the most highly-praised crafters on the So-Cal scene.
Their small-batch brews have earned them medals at the San Diego Int’l Beer Festival, and even Thrillist declares Abnormal an Essential San Diego Brewery!
New brews from these guys always get locals stoked, with the big, robust, and boozy releases like Sugar, Spice, Nice frequently selling out within hours!
The brewers made less than 100 cases of this hyper-limited barrel-aged blend of Strong Ales. And we got our hands on the lion’s share of ‘em.
That means that you have a chance to experience its whiskey-drenched whirlwind of sugar, spice, and everything nice before even San Diego’s craft fiends!
For this heavy-hitting brew, Abnormal combined a Barrel-Aged Barleywine with a Barrel-Aged Winter Warmer before adding some star anise, clove, cinnamon, and allspice to the mix. Then, they aged the blend for 2 years in Templeton Rye 6 Year and Wild Turkey Diamond Whiskey barrels!
The end result is a near-perfect balance of caramelized brown sugar and vanilla, complemented by black licorice and a woody, herbal spice. And with a 12% ABV, every sip of Sugar, Spice, Nice tastes like a bite of a cinnamon-sugar cookie that’s been dunked in that bottle of “special occasion” whiskey you’ve been saving!
You don’t want to miss out on this hyper-limited, spirit-raising deliciousness from one of So-Cal’s best, do you?
Of course not. Better to snag yourself a bottle of bourbon sugar cookies while you still can. ‘Cause once our stash of Sugar, Spice, Nice runs out, it’s gone for good.
