A Note on This Beer
One of the most badass concerts I ever went to was at a laundromat in Portland, OR -- a fully functional place for washing garments. Apparently it was also a venue for surprise pop-up concerts by indie performers.
The band played on a technicolor lit stage contrasted by a backdrop of stacked machines, still swirling with soapy bubbles. Hophead loving locals danced the night away and crushed cans of the most PNW tasting beer I’ve ever sipped: Fort George’s Suicide Squeeze IPA.
An effervescent body floated across our tongues with gentle rhythm. The sweet melodies of the Citra and Mosaic Hops harmonized flavors of punk-rock pineapple and juicy melon. The earthy undertones of Amarillo Hops chimed in, keeping everything grounded. Together with the 7.2% ABV, this canned project was lively, loud and downright delicious on every note.
This love-for-all-things-indie brew was created in collaboration with Seattle-based label Suicide Squeeze Records. Fort George brings their award-winning reputation and successful collab brew-record for beers like their 3-Way IPA. The record company brings their know how for preserving underground culture (they represent creative visionaries like Modest Mouse and the Black Keys). With Suicide Squeeze IPA, the super team managed to create the same against-the-grain gusto of the magical laundromat concert night.
Whether you check out live performances or prefer putting on a record at home and drinking in your underwear -- sip this collaborative brew and bring the indie spirit of the PNW to whatever scene you’re jamming in.
