With today’s fruit-stuffed Sour Ale, the Barrel Culture crew pushes the boundaries of brewing, almost defying all common sense. They filled it to the brim with pineapple and beets — yes, BEETS!
We can count on one hand all the beet beers we’ve seen on Tavour. And, this one may take the cake. The beets add a rich, tangy, cranberry-like succulence and palate-pleasing complexity. Their nuanced, earthy-sweet notes complement and elevate the bright funkiness of Barrel Culture’s American Sour Ale base.
The brewers added the beets and a bit of tropical pineapple after fermentation for an incredible, juice-forward drinking experience. Each refreshing sip is lightly lip-puckering, but remains balanced by the subtle beet flavor.
It tastes like fresh, farm-style lemonade but with an unexpected complexity. And, with its light 5.6% ABV, it’s primed for refreshing, sunny afternoon sessioning!
This quenching, experimental Sour is boundary-pushing when consumed by itself. But, Summer Jam: Pineapple Beets fits in wherever a sunny sipper is needed, whether that’s at the park or enjoyed alongside dessert.
