We've all had beloved pets make the journey over the rainbow bridge, but only a few of us have the brewing skills to create a delicious beer in their memory. 

That’s exactly what the 2nd Shift brewers did when their brewery cat and trusty mascot, Sunshine, passed away. 

“He was a fat bastard, but we loved him,” says crew member Mike Sweeney.

Even though I get a little sneeze-y every time I pet a feline friend, the moment I saw the ridiculously cute can for today’s Sunny Cat NEIPA, I knew I had to get my hands on some! This is the hazy tribute all brewery furballs deserve!

Pull out this brew on a gray, dreary day and its bright, citrus flavors will have you "feline" paw-some, almost like there is an adorable cat snoozin’ in your lap. Brewed to purr-fection with heaps of tangerine and lactose, Sunny Cat is like an orange creamsicle on a hot summer day: refreshing and bound to make you extremely happy!

2nd Shift is new to Tavour, but they have been tearing up the craft scene in St. Louis with their eclectic, often cat-inspired brews since 2010. Feline-loving locals hardly let any cans leave the Midwest, so this is your chance to get your paws on this limited-release brew!

Amarillo and Citra Hops give this Hazy IPA bright citrus aromas that paw at the nose from the tabby orange pour. The first sip drenches the palate in juicy tangerine and mandarin oranges, while delicate floral notes appear on the finish. The addition of lactose gives Sunny Cat a full body and soft meowth-feel, making the 6% ABV feel as light as a cat nap. 

While the debate is still hot about whether or not 2nd Shift will get another furry mascot, two things are certain: Sunny Cat is a paw-sitively delicious brew, and our cat puns are very, very bad.
