A Note on This Beer
Man, I wish I could live every day like a carefree Californian.
They wake up with the sun, spend all day soakin’ it up in the Great Outdoors, and then retreat inside as the big, bright star dips below the horizon. Then they get to do it all again the next day.
Pssh, sounds like they got it *real tough* out there in the Land of Milk and Honey.
Which is why I snagged today’s Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset, Repeat Oak Aged Golden Sour Ale from the 4x World Beer Cup award-winners at Berkeley’s The Rare Barrel. So I could bring a little bit of that California sunshine to all of you!
And trust me, after a few sips of this 7.9% ABV Sour, you’ll be poppin’ on some shades, turnin’ on some Eagles, and walkin’ on sweet sunshine in no time!
Crafted with enough real pineapple and strawberry to rival a SoCal farmer’s market, aromas of tangy tropical juice and ripe, drippy berries brim from a sunshiny pour. Take a sip and hints of woody spice and silky vanilla from oak-aging dance across the palate, imparting flavors akin to a tart, fruity sorbet, dusted with cinnamon and served with a dollop of whipped cream.
But better act fast if you want any chance at it — The Rare Barrel is so meticulous about the quality and craftsmanship of each oak-aged treat, that they only brew in extremely small batches.
Which means that, aside from a few lucky spots around the Bay Area, the only place to snag today’s bottle of liquid California sunshine is right here.
And considering every single beer we’ve offered from The Rare Barrel is rated 4+ with our members, I don’t expect our stash of this tart and jammy, boozed-up fruit smoothie to hang around long.
So, grab yourself a bottle of two of this tart and jammy, boozed-up fruit smoothie and sip on this liquid Cali sunshine as you say “buh-bye” to summer. Cheers!
