I used truffle salt very consistently, maybe too much. This was just right, the salt played so well against the deep and luxurious fruit and fruit mouth feel. Try it!

Ordered from Tavour. Chilled then poured into a hurricane glass. Look: Deep opaque ruby red, light pink half finger head that quickly disappeared and left a small ring of foam. Smell: Blackberry and passionfruit mixed with earthy truffles, followed by sweet marshmallow. Taste: Salty truffle up front and in the nose, immediately followed by blackberry and passionfruit sour, then as those three flavors slowly fade you get a touch of marshmallow. Feel: Medium to full, lightly syrupy, sour, light tickle of carbonation. Overall this is not a bad beer. The truffle is a little weird and overpowering unless you really like truffles. Leave that out and this would have been a killer fruit sour with marshmallow. As it is, the truffle is a bit over the top for a beer. Cheers!

Similar to "Too Far Juice" like a smoothie was left in the fridge and I drank it the next day. This ones more tart, but not as thick on the mouth feel. It's good "juice".

If you aren’t ready for a noticeable truffle flavor in your beer, don’t buy it. I figured it’d be negligible but I was dead wrong.

Amazing stuff. The black truffle salt adds some serious depth to this crazy beer. Not for everyone.

Tart but fun

I used to roll my eyes whenever I saw somebody explain that a beer had a "complex flavor" (especially IPAs because YUCK, they all taste the same to me, like a stale old bouquet of flowers in seltzer water)... until I tried this amazing beer. I'm shocked to see this did not score a solid 5 - perhaps because people do not understand the black truffle flavor/note and aren't used to it? Well, I love to cook with truffles, and I am very familiar with the flavor... this has such an interesting complexity because you can smell and almost taste the black truffle, and while I'm usually a super sweet pastry stout fan, I loved that the saltiness somewhat balanced the sweet flavor. This is a grade A brew and this brewery should try their hand at culinary arts and even maybe perfumery, in addition to making this kind of an amazing treat. My message to the makers of this beer is not to be let down by some of these ratings, because I think you're simply marketing it to the wrong audience (by calling it swag juice maybe? Google me by my username, I'm a marketing/design expert and have worked with your industry lol) - people who have been to 5 star restaurants and spend more than $100 on a bottle of perfume (such as myself) would all agree this is a total masterpiece. I would have paid triple the price at a fancy restaurant for a glass of this. Thanks for the experience. :)
