A Note on This Beer
I’ll never forget the first time I tried Black Forest cake. There it was, indulgently garnished with cherries, chocolate shavings, and thick vanilla whip. I was so entranced that I didn’t even use a fork — I just dove straight in with my hands like a little 8-year-old pastry gremlin.
My mouth was packed with so much spongey chocolate and cream-drenched cherries that I couldn’t respond when my family started flipping out over the fact that my aunt and uncle hadn’t even cut their wedding cake yet.
It’s been decades since then, but now I can finally make it up to them! Because my aunt and uncle are Tavour members, and I just got a stash of Three Magnets Brewing Co.’s newest Cake Beer— The Black Forest!
These 4x Washington Beer Award-winners brewed this dessert-inspired Imperial Stout with real cherries, chocolate, and vanilla!
If you’re as much of a cake fiend as I am, it’s gonna be darn near impossible not to suck this one down in one sitting. If it were an actual cake slice, it’d be that one from the corner with all the extra frosting and chocolate crumbles.
And seeing as this liquified black forest cake comes wrapped in an 8.5% ABV, I’d say it’s even better than the real thing. It’s way less messy, too!
Black Forest is fresh out of the bakery— er, brewery, so it doesn’t have any reviews yet. Heck, it hasn’t even hit bottleshop shelves in most places. And even when it does, you ain’t gonna see this cakey baby in any state that’s not touching the Pacific.
So grab a few cans of your own and be the only one in your town with this Imperial cake-in-a-can. If any of your friends want a taste, just have them ask you nicely — “Pretty please, with cherries and chocolate shavings on top, give me a taste of Black Forest!”
This beer is too new for ratings!
