A Note on This Beer
Today’s the day! The Carrot King (2020) is here!
This is your chance to luxuriate in a whimsical, one-of-a-kind, Belgian-inspired Wild Ale from Cellador and the beer connoisseurs at Hop Culture Magazine.
While most brewers use table sugar to add spritzy carbonation, the innovators at Cellador turn convention on its head! They bottle condition this Wild Ale with fresh-pressed carrot juice — full of natural sugars!
Plus, to make this sipping experience extra special, Hop Culture’s illustrator Sam Taylor created a custom-designed label and Instagram-worthy collector’s glass, available in super-limited quantities.
Before you pop open this glowing orange brew and dive into its layers of earthy funk and tangy juice, here’s the inside scoop:
The brewers started with a nuanced Wild Ale based, brewed with California-grown Pilsner Malt and Raw Heritage Sonora Wheat — and aged for a year in oak barrels. Then, they juiced 650 pounds of locally-sourced Nantes Carrots from Weiser Family Farms.
Finally, they added 15 gallons of fresh carrot juice to every barrel of beer!
The Carrot King will take your taste buds to new realms — it’s tart and funky, with notes of fresh-cut grass. There’s a kick of citrus on the tongue, followed by woody notes, and an earthy sweetness from the carrots on the finish. The more you sip, the more you’ll discover.
Now for the kicker — we have less than 70 cases to share! This beer and glassware pairing is sure to elevate your drinking experience... but only if you’re quick enough to get in on the action!
*TIP: Like any pressed juice, The Carrot King will separate in the bottle. After chilling for 24 hours, gently rotate the bottle upside-down two or three times until you see the cloudy carrot concentrate dissolve back into the beer. Open the bottle and have your glass ready!
