A Note on This Beer
Once upon a dark day in 2014, Adroit Theory brewed freshly-roasted serrano peppers into a Porter to create their 7.5% ABV Devil Made Me with Serrano Peppers. Beer fiends went wild for these fancy flavors -- more spicy chipotle than jalapeno hot. Now it’s 2018, and Adroit has spent the last four years denying requests for this wicked hot brew.
They’ve finally brought the Devil back, and added 30% more serrano spice. Call the fire department -- Adroit tells us this season’s peppers are real scorchers!
You may think the roasted firewood smell in Devil Made Me is from toasted malts, but it’s not -- the smoked serrano pepper is just that strong. Malts make the spiciness more complex, adding a succulent smoky molé flavor that sits on the tip of your tongue. But the flavor at the center of your palate, and the feeling after you’ve swallowed, is sublimely spicy. What can Adroit say? Some like it hot, hot, hot.
The Dark Beer Devils at Adroit are stoking our flames -- Tavour fans rated their last flavor rich Dark Beer a 4.37. When you crack open a bottle of today’s Porter, your friends are going to want some, but we think it’s too good to share. So when they ask why you drank the whole bottle, tell them, “the Devil Made Me drink it.”
