A Note on This Beer
The folks at Citizen Cider say they crafted today’s Cider in honor of their friend, “The Mayor” who “enjoys his cider with a nip of ginger.”
It turns out that The Mayor in question isn’t a politician at all, but a Vermont Public Radio producer who happens to have fantastic taste in ciders. Thanks to loads of locally sourced Vermont apples and ginger, every crisp sip of The Dirty Mayor brims with freshly-made juice and zings of earthy spice.
It’s easy-drinking and naturally sweet. Really — Citizen Cider uses a temperature controlled, filtered “stop fermentation” process to remove all excess sugars!
I could easily kick back all afternoon with this one, though it seems like the entire state of Vermont is already doing just that. The Dirty Mayor is a local favorite, and readers of Seven Days Vermont have named Citizen the state’s Best Hard Cidery every year for the last 7 years!
Citizen Cider’s ciders (that’s fun to say!) normally never leave the Northeast, but I think it’s time you apple-headed Tavoursters got a taste.
Just be forewarned — there are only 20 cases to go around!
