A Note on This Beer
“Dare I say, perfection in a cup?... The chocolate is pure fudge, the spice is just enough to cut any overly richness. May I say my favorite dark ever!” –Dark beer lover @Joya R.
There are Chocolate Stouts, Coffee Stouts, Milk Stouts, and Stouts with Chili peppers.
Then, there’s The Explorer from Anchorage Brewing — a ridiculously decadent, 15% ABV limited release that encompasses it all, and then some!
Starting with a big, roasty base of dark malts, the brewers fermented and aged The Explorer in Missouri Oak foeders to mellow out the boozy intensity and impart notes of woody spice. And, the real kicker? They finished it all on quite the impressive ingredient lineup: Madagascar vanilla beans, coconut, Ancho chilies, cocoa nibs, Klatch coffee, and milk sugar.
It sips down stunningly smooth for its strength and brims with rich Mexican mocha flavors.
Alaskan locals know how special this beer is — they already snatched up every last can from the brewery!
So, if you want a taste — not later, not tomorrow — right NOW is the time to grab it. We’d love to accommodate every dark beer aficionado, but there’s only so much of this behemoth to go around. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
