A Note on This Beer

Today’s West Coast IPA salutes those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice.

Pennsylvania’s Funk Brewing joined forces with Virginia’s One Family Brewing to craft this West Coast style IPA. Using Amarillo, Azacca, Centennial, and Columbus Hops, this juicy and dank IPA comes loaded with citrus flavors. Up front, there’s a pleasant burst of tangerine that turns to grapefruit and a touch of pineapple before resolving with a resinous finish.

For any lover of hoppy and tropical brews, this is a classic, delicious beer for an outstanding cause.

Proceeds will go to the Woody Williams Medal of Honor Foundation to build more Gold Star Memorials across the country, to remember the names of the men and women who’ve lost their lives in the line of duty.

On top of that, each edition lists the names of 60 fallen heroes on the can.

This is the 5th edition of this collaborative release. If you’re interested in supporting the brewery’s efforts beyond the beer, or in seeing the names that will be listed on this edition’s can, you can visit:

It’s a delicious beer for a great cause — what’s not to love?

Poured a bit hazier than I had anticipated. Was super fruit forward. Initially off putting, but after a few minutes to warm up it tasted great and was a fantastic drinking experience

Average at best. I love the name, the can, and the message. Unfortunately the beer isn't that good.

I love a good West Coast IPA. I feel this is a wonderful West Coast IPA, for a even better cause. This one I will sip in silence, in honor of the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Light notes of citrus and pine along with biscuity malt in aroma. Light orange and pineapple notes in taste with subtle pine and a low bitterness on back end. Drinks more like a NEIPA than a WCIPA. Love the message behind this beer and on the can art.

A great IPA indeed but not exactly a west coast. lacks the defined crispness and clarity a good west coast should have. but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad beer. some tropical, some citrus and some floral earthiness. pretty nice! I love the cause.

Daily corona battle. Late dinner run edition. Love the can and cause! Beverage is malty pine, earthy with a touch of orange. May not have gotten a good batch or old l. Unsure. Dry, funky finish.

Really good flavor orange really comes through and is very refreshing on a hot day. Has a great aftertaste not over powering like most ipa’s.

Just what I wanted in an IPA. Clean with just the right amount of hop flavor to not be bitter. Thankfully doesn't cave to the massive amounts of citrus found in lots of IPAs these days.

Love the cause, but this is absolutely not a west coast IPA. Another haze-craze victim

My brother, buddy, and I tasted this. It had good flavor for an IPA, but this is not a West Coast style IPA, a west coast IPA should be clear, and not hazy.
