About This Beer
To craft the 48th entry in the beloved beer line, the NYC crew started with an Old Ale aged for 20 months in 2014 Wild Turkey Single bourbon barrels. Then they blended it with an Altbier aged for 17 months in Widow Jane Decadence barrels — a rare cask that housed 10-yo bourbon finished in artisanal maple syrup barrels. And they left out any adjuncts to let the base beers and oak really shine.
Tasting Notes
Every silky swig cascades with opulent dark fruit nuances hinted with whiskey. Date, dried plum, and port tones lead with woody vanilla swirling throughout. Treacly caramel notes seep into just a touch of maple and baking spice, further obscuring the 11.5% ABV.
