A Note on This Beer
Brewmaster Jack’s Hoppiness is a Warm Pun was the IPA that sparked Tavour’s love affair with NE-Style hazies. Today’s muscled up mango-pineapple flavorbomb is described by the brewers as its even juicier encore -- meet The Little Brother Double IPA.
If this 8.5% ABV Massachusetts-made palate slapper was your little brother, boy-oh-boy would the bullying roles be reversed! Brewmaster Jack crams a seemingly impossible 110 IBUs into the thick, tropical fruity body, commandeering the end of each sip with a pronounced piney punch. There’s also an undeniably potent dankness wafting from The Little Brother, but with his jacked-up intensity, you’d be way too intimidated to tell your parents.
Ok, listen up: this amber-orange hued pour isn’t messing around, its citrusy and resinous aromas are practically busting out of the bottle. Simcoe Hops lend Navel oranges and grapefruit peel caught in a kush cloud, acting as a pedestal to display Citra’s muskmelon and juicy pineapple tones. And although The Little Brother’s thick mouthfeel and fruity flavors make him seem nice from the outside, when you’re not looking he’ll land a hopped up grassy uppercut on ya as soon as mom and dad’s backs are turned.
BeerAdvocate drinkers love The Little Brother’s unabashed hoppy strength, giving it a 4.10 score. User @Beglane says, “Great dank smell, all hoppy goodness. I can’t find fault with this DIPA.”
